Leilani Bömer

Hello, I’m Leilani!

With a diverse background, having been born in Germany, raised in the Czech Republic, and having lived in the US for the past 11 years—with a year spent in Japan—I bring a unique cultural perspective to my counseling practice.

I have a deep interest in topics such as anxiety, childhood trauma, and surviving narcissistic or emotional abuse, but what truly drives me is the richness of each individual’s story. My mission is to offer a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. I am here to listen, empathize, and help you navigate life’s challenges, increasing your self-awareness, and uncovering the underlying patterns and emotions that shape your experiences.

In our sessions, my goal is to make you feel truly heard and understood, while helping you achieve meaningful and lasting change. Whether you are dealing with stress, anxiety, or complex relationship issues, I am committed to offering an empathetic and engaging counseling experience. Together, we will work towards enhancing your emotional well-being, providing you with the tools and support needed to thrive on your journey of self-discovery. I look forward to being a part of your journey :)

My Services

Individual Sessions

I offer both General or Schema-Informed Counseling. General Counseling offers a supportive space for exploring your current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This approach is flexible, addressing immediate challenges such as stress, anxiety, trauma, and self-esteem issues. The focus is on understanding how you feel now and developing practical strategies to improve your emotional well-being. General counseling is ideal for individuals seeking help with day-to-day struggles or looking for personal growth and coping skills to handle life’s challenges.

Schema-Informed Counseling, on the other hand, goes deeper into the long-standing patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior that often originate in early childhood. These patterns, or “schemas,” may influence how you perceive relationships, your self-worth, and emotional reactions. By identifying and challenging these schemas, schema-informed counseling helps to reshape unhealthy patterns, improving not only your present-day emotional health but also fostering lasting change in how you relate to yourself and others. This approach is particularly beneficial for those dealing with long-term issues, relational difficulties, or recurring emotional challenges.

Both methods offer a compassionate, empathetic space for healing, but the key difference lies in whether you seek short-term relief or a deeper, transformative understanding of ingrained patterns.

Couple’s Counseling

I provide a safe, supportive space for couples to rebuild trust, improve communication, and strengthen their emotional connection. My online sessions help both partners feel heard and work towards creating a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.

Couple’s Counseling provides a supportive and neutral space for partners to explore their relationship dynamics, communication styles, and emotional needs. This approach is flexible, addressing both immediate concerns such as conflict resolution, trust issues, and emotional disconnection, as well as deeper, long-standing patterns that may influence how you relate to each other. The focus is on fostering better understanding, improving communication, and developing strategies to strengthen the bond between partners.

In this process, we will not only address current challenges but also explore how past experiences and ingrained emotional patterns may be impacting your relationship. By identifying these patterns, couple’s counseling helps you and your partner break unhelpful cycles, build healthier emotional connections, and create lasting change in how you interact with one another.

This holistic approach is suitable for couples seeking to resolve specific problems, enhance emotional intimacy, or work on long-term relational issues. Whether you are looking for practical tools to improve day-to-day interactions or a deeper transformation of your relationship, couple’s counseling offers a compassionate and safe space for healing and growth.
